China Largest Auto Producer

China is now the world's biggest auto producer. It has now overtaken Japan according to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association.

Japan produced  7.93 million units falling 31.5% from previous levels.

The US is now in third place after only producing 5.7 million units. Japan had been the world's largest auto producer, overtaking the US in 2006.. now that honor goes to China in 2009.

Also China now has a vibrant auto market as their vehicle sales averages around 13 million units a year, this according to the  China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and this figure will likely increase to 15 million in 2010.
